Expression of the Obp57d and Obp57e genes at the terminal segments of legs in Drosophila melanogaster are visualized by green fluorescent protein (GFP). These genes are involved in the evolution of host-plant preference for D. sechellia, a specialized species that breeds exclusively on the ripe fruit of Morinda citrifolia. (see Matsuo et al.).
