Heterozygous phenotypes in the locomotor and other assays?

Posted by rihel on 19 Oct 2014 at 10:25 GMT

I am wondering about any heterozygous phenotypes in any of the studies, in particular in the sleep:wake assay. These are claimed to be wt vs. mutant siblings placed in the tracking system. Does this mean there is a way to tell *before* you put the larvae into the experiment which ones are mutant and which ones are wild type? Or are the fish tracked blindly and then genotyped afterwards, in which case there will be heterozygous fish data that is being ignored in the analysis, or not reported? Thanks.
