Dear authors
It would have been fair in this paper dealing with an alternative route for NHEJ in mammals to cite at least one paper from our group since we have been among the first to defend and bring evidence for this idea which is now recognized and demonstrated in VDJ recombination, Class-switch Recombiantion, IR breaks repair and even telomere fusion (eg. of our work M. Audebert, B. Salles and P. Calsou, Involvement of poly(ADP-ribose)polymerase-1 and XRCC1/DNA ligase III in an alternative route for DNA double-strand breaks rejoining , J Biol Chem, 2004, 279 : 55117-55126. followed by Audebert, M., Salles, B., Weinfeld, M. and Calsou, P. (2006) Involvement of polynucleotide kinase in a poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase-1-dependent DNA double-strand breaks rejoining pathway. J Mol Biol, 356, 257-265)
