In the center is a light microscope image of subterrestrial nematode H. mephisto at 200X magnification. The genome of this organism is the basis of the study described in Asalone et al (this issue). In the surrounding background is a maximum likelihood tree of the P-glycoprotein (pgp) related protein group from a variety of alternative genome assemblies from H. mephisto as discussed in the manuscript.
