The rise of coronaviruses
The emergence of the Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) coronavirus, ten years after the emergence of SARS coronavirus, demonstrates the importance of understanding the biology and pathogenesis of these viruses. This knowledge will aid in the development of countermeasure against these and other potentially emergent zoonotic coronaviruses. See Coleman, Frieman.
