This editorial reflects a nice attitude toward readers: “We welcome your feedback on this initiative “. It is, no doubt, a highly significant initiative for the progress of knowledge, although the scientific community has not been able to accompany your lead: researchers are willing to publish in these journals, but apparently just for the sake of publishing. The potential for reflective talk, cross-disciplinary talk, or just talk, allowing some step or some level further in the knowledge or hypothesising around a problem seems very far from fulfilling. Often authors do not take seriously the comments to their articles, I guess that some do not even read the comments.
But the freshh air is here, and some day in future very interesting things will happen on this stage.
Environmental, including social determinants of health, no matter their overwhelming importance in development of the greatest disease burden, have found pervasive barriers in entering mainstream science. I enthusiastically congratulate you also for this endeavour.
