Each neighbouring gene contributes to the score based on its classification getting a value described in the top left panel. In the example, the score is equal to 0.34, most likely indicating an HGT insertion. Overall, a score above 0 indicates an HGT insertion, while a score below 0 indicates a possible contamination or HGT rich region.
