The calcium concentration in this model is a dimensionless quantity since it is only considered in the synapses (see main text). We use parameters for the calcium-based early-phase model that were fitted on hippocampal slice data [21,71]. For networks, the calcium contribution parameters are corrected by a factor of 0.6 to account for in vivo conditions (cf. [70]).
