Panels (a.1)-(d.1) compare . Increasing the spread rate of popularity variable from 2 to 4 to 8 to 16 suppresses the spatial heterogeneity, so that aggregation clusters of the susceptible decrease in number and size. As a consequence, the spread of the epidemic accelerates.
