The parameters of the HoPE model.
The majority of parameter values are taken from previous empirical work on pigeons flocks [15, 21, 24]. We decide the value of parameters that could not be inferred from the literature by calibration [17] through comparisons with the empirical data of Sankey et al. (2021) [24] and visual testing to ensure realistic flock formations.
