The bar plots show the predicted brightness difference between the gray patches for the corresponding display (a positive value indicates contrast, while negative values “reverse contrast”). (B) Reverse contrast where the good continuation of the end points is varied. This in turn affect the suppression of redundant edges, which increases with the alignment of the flanking bars.
