Computational Biology is on a good path from "helper" science to "steering" science. One risk with this is that contributions may become so specialised that they are no longer accessible for the average life scientist. On-line training platforms offer effective routes to address this (e.g. sysmic.ac.uk ) but most are directed at biologists. Specifically, when taking moving to computational human health, it becomes urgent to provide training for biomedical and clinical researchers with little background in computing. PLoS CB could become a catalyst by offering online resources for this key clientele. For instance, as supplement to research articles.
