closeConfounding issues with health care workers discussion appears to be incorrect.

In the discussion the authors state "When the health care worker data were analysed separately, there was no significant change in growth rates before and after the hinge day (S1 File) and there is no reason to believe that mask usage changed in the health care setting during the study period. These lack of changes in the health care worker cases supports the case that the changes observed in the general population are due to increased mask wearing in that population and not some general environmental factor."
As was the case generally around the world, health care workers were over represented in the Melbourne second wave. The authors state " there is no reason to believe that mask usage changed in the health care setting during the study period.". This appears to be incorrect. According to the RACGP, "on 1 August 2020, the Victorian guidance was upgraded to use Tier 3 PPE[which include N95 respirators] in caring for patients with known or suspected COVID-19infection who are cohorted in wards, intensive care units and emergency departments".
