Experiments show elimination of wild Ae. aegypti population in physically-contained field cages through sustained releases of OX513A Ae. aegypti male adults carrying a dominant lethal gene in India. Larvae having OX513A male parent carry DsRed fluorescent marker protein visible under fluorescence microscope, which allows to monitor efficacy of the approach and to demonstrate no persistence of the released OX513A males or gene in the environment.
