Children from poverty-ravaged homes engaging in unwholesome water contact through fishing, bathing and fetching water for domestic use at Ayingada rural slum in Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area of Katsina State, Nigeria. It is obvious this is a potential breeding ground for suitable snail intermediate hosts of schistosomes which excrete astronomically large number of infective larval form called cercaria. The location is known for a poor network of Mass Drug Administration with Praziquantel. In some of the areas covered, the drugs were rejected due to spurious sentiments. Atalabi et al.
