Assessing Dehydration in Dhaka
A NIRUDAK research nurse measures a young boy's blood pressure after he is admitted with acute diarrhea to the rehydration unit at the International Centre of Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b) in Dhaka. NIRUDAK stands for Novel, Innovative Research for Understanding Dehydration in Adults and Kids and is the Bengali word for "dehydrated" or "waterless." This prospective cohort study aims to derive the first clinical diagnostic models for dehydration severity in patients over five years with acute diarrhea. Levine, et al. (2021)
