Neglected treatment on neglected infection
We investigated the efficacy of rabbit polyclonal antibody (pcAb) against leptospirosis in hamster. The pcAb could cure both same serotype and a heterotype lethal Leptospira infections in hamster, and combination therapy with the antibiotic improved survival compared to antibiotic group in the late treatment of homotype leptospirosis. In addition, a reference dose of pcAb was provided for human or dog leptospirosis treatment. Thus, the pcAb therapy is a potential cure for leptospirosis, especially in the late stage. Jin et al.
