Standards in Epi 6.1

EPI 6.1 statistical software was used to calculate the weight-for-age, height-for-age and weight-for-height z-scores, which compare the study children to the nutritional standards of the World Health Organization

Epi 6.1 calculates Z-scores based upon the NCHS standards. These are not the same as the WHO(2005) standards which are substantially different, particularly for the younger child. The new standards are available from WHO (Anthro) and can be easily calculated using SMART software ENA (at www.nutrisurvey.net)
