Data on CATT results of HAT specimens

Posted by philippebuscher on 30 Dec 2014 at 09:13 GMT

Dear authors,
Congratulations with this well designed study.
Still, to better interpret the diagnostic accuracy of the prototype tests in comparison to the CATT, I would appreciate the table 3 to be completed with the sensitivity and specificity of the CATT on the study specimens. From the manuscript, I understand that all non-HAT control sera were CATT negative, therefore, in this study the CATT is 100% specific. However, what about sensitivity of CATT? I suppose that the HAT patients were all screened with CATT before microscopic parasite detection. Could you please indicate the sensitivity of the CATT in this study, if possible also in function of the country of origin of the specimens?
Thanks for your consideration.
