Competing Interests
The chemical synthesis and uses of the immucillins are disclosed in several U.S. Patents under the general title “Inhibitors of nucleoside metabolism”. Authors Keith Clinch, Gary B. Evans, Peter C. Tyler and Vern L. Schramm are named in this patent family. The patents are owned by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and VicLink of the University of Victoria, Wellington, New Zealand. The owners have licensed certain immucillins to the biotechnology industry for development in human use. The existence of these license agreements does not alter the authors' adherence to all policies on sharing data and materials.
