Overall flow of the study.

This study performed a cross-sectional study followed by an interventional study. The intervention population were divided into 4 groups (Groups 1-4) and conducted the interventions during each period. After the cross-sectional study, Group 1 was subjected to intervention. In Groups 2 to 4, the presence of oral ARB was investigated again before the intervention.

This study selected fifty-seven subjects over 65 years of age according to the criteria for this cross-sectional study. For those who had GN-ARB or S. aureus in the earlier cross-sectional study, an intervention study was conducted on those subjects who provided informed consent.

The intervention was performed for eight weeks and the survey was applied before and after the intervention. The pneumonia was evaluated from the end to one year after the intervention.
