Patients were categorized into three groups: primary aldosteronism (PA), essential hypertension (EH), and other miscellaneous diseases. All samples were used for the method comparison, while only samples from PA and EH patients without renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system-interfering drugs were used for determining the PA cut-off.
