Each circle represents one electrode (actual electrode size varies), electrodes are connected in pairs or “channels” according to matching number/color within each circle. Stimulation of the quadriceps involves two channels per leg while stimulation of gluteals and hamstrings involves one channel on gluteals and one channel on hamstrings per side. This placement guide was developed for this study with the assistance of the device manufacturer and is being printed here with their explicit permission (RS Medical, Vancouver, WA, USA).
