Evolution of the support for Catalan independence (2006–2019).

The question from the Centre d’Estudis d’Opinió (CEO) used to create the figure has the following wording: “Which kind of political entity should Catalonia be with respect to Spain? Independent state/ Federal state within Spain/Autonomous community within Spain/Region within Spain.” This question is used—rather than the direct question on whether respondents support independence or not—because it has been asked for a longer time span by the CEO.
