Fig 1.

NR3C1 gene structure.

The NR3C1 gene covers a region of more than 80 kb on chromosome V. It contains 8 coding exons (2–9) and 9 alternative spliced 5’ non coding exon 1 variants. The region encompassing exon 1 variants is also known to function as a proximal promoter. Methylation of CpG dinucleotides (capital letters, 1–47) of exon 1F promoter region is examined in this study. Boxes represent known or putative canonical NGFI-A binding sites and broken-line boxes represent non canonical NGFI-a binding sites. * CpG position followed Palma-Gudiel et al. 2015 numerotation.
