Fig 1.
Number of Vigie-Nature articles per year of publication.
NB: At the time of our analysis, the whole data for 2019 were not yet available, which explains the relative low number of articles for this year.
Fig 2.
Comparative citation rate history.
We plotted the average citation history for Vigie-Nature’s articles (blue, total sample size: 123 articles), for the ‘Biodiversity and Conservation’ articles from WoS (red, sample size: 60847 articles), and for the articles from the Vigie-Nature journals group (black, sample size: 78988 articles).
Table 1.
Sample size corresponding to the Vigie-Nature curve in Fig 1 (points from 0 to 12 years).
Fig 3.
Average relative yearly citation rate of the Vigie-Nature articles.
We plotted the relative amount of annual citation of Vigie-Nature articles with respect to the ensemble of articles published in the same journals during the same year.
Fig 4.
Time-dependent median value of the Vigie-Nature articles citation rate.
The median (in blue) is compared to the average citation rate of the articles in biodiversity and conservation from WoS (in red, sample size: 60847 papers).
Table 2.
Citation thresholds for the 10%, 20% and 50% most cited papers, for Vigie-Nature and the whole Environment and Ecology field, between 2009 and 2019.
