Included are all children born in Denmark 1997 to 2010, who by their two years birthday were alive and had not emigrated or been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (n = 858,201). The proportion of children redeeming broad-spectrum and narrow-spectrum antibiotics, respectively, include also children who had redeemed both broad- and narrow-spectrum antibiotics within the first two years of life.
