Cut-off points for taurine were determined by tertiles (T1: 64.3–126.6 nmol/mL; T2: 126.7–152.9 nmol/mL; T3: 153.0–308.5 nmol/mL) in the overall population. ORs were calculated using logistic regression conditional on matching factors including age, menopausal status, number and dates of blood donations with additional adjustment for BMI and smoking (except for variables stratified by in stratified analyses). The arrows (for past and current smokers) indicate that the upper limit of the 95% confidence interval was not shown in the figure.
