Values represent the percent of the variation accounted for by each independent variable (i.e., variance components). The sign in parenthesis represents the nature (+/-) of the Pearson’s correlation coefficient between the response taxon’s density and that variable. Empty cells represent independent variables which did not account for any of the variation (in this situation, covariates were removed from the models, and structural factors were pooled).
