The location of repeat units shown inside or outside of the circle is purely practical; information on directionality is given in Table 4. The inner circle shows GC content. Analyses are based on a constraint tree using the topology from analysis of 24 protein coding genes (Fig. 3). Branch lengths are proportional to substitutions per site except the Silene branch in the rrn5 tree having been reduced to ca. 1/3 of its actual length.
