Analysis of peptides with tandem mass spectrometry.

Labeled proteins result from either the heavy atoms present naturally or through culture with 13C labeled glucose. Proteolysis resulted in peptides that were fragmented by tandem mass spectrometry. Isotopic measurements resulted in quantitative labeling descriptions of sequences of amino acids.
