This manuscript supplies new genomic data leading to the creation of a new tailed phage genus - I hope the authors will continue detailed functional and structural studies of the phage and its proteins. The work may also have medical importance for the future, as the host of the described phage, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, is a major cause of opportunistic infections in humans, is naturally resistant to many antibiotics and can acquire resistance to more.

Dear Dr. Mark J van Raaij, thanks very much for your good comments on this work. We are now trying to study the functions of some of PaP1 proteins, and PaP1 capsid and DNA packaging mechanisms. Surely the phage therapy attempts of PaP1 should be very important, although it is not an easy thing.
