The authors correctly state the first record of Ae. albopictus in Gabon to be in 2006. However, in the next paragraph they claim that it "was first detected in December 2006", and they cite reference (15). I want to point out that in fact the first detection took place in November 2006, as published by us (Krueger & Hagen, Trop Med Int Health. 2007 Sep;12(9):1105-7. Epub 2007 Aug 20). Hence, even our publication predates the cited paper which was only issued in December 2007.
At the time, the two teams (French and German) worked independently on this topic and published each an almost identical paper in 2007. Yet the priority should lie with the first finding and/or the first published record!
