Clarifications needed

Just to help with interpreting these finding on an important topic.

The abstract gives death rates of 61% in smokers and 40% in non-smokers, but the text says that 81 (17%) patients died. (This seems also not accurate as 81/743=11%).

Also, if the adjusted OR for men=1.9 and for women=0.79, OR=1.7 for the full sample does not seem correct.

Is there a reference for the 38% smoking prevalence in Lebanon?

As previous studies showed particularly negative outcomes for ex-smokers, would it be possible to show the death rate for ex-smokers in this sample?

With thanks,
