I am one of the authors of this article. In the process of major revision, reviewers pointed out that negative binomial regression (IRR) should be used instead of adjusted logistic regression (OR). So we reanalyzed our data using negative binomial regression. However, we found a typo in our abstract.
Upon adjusting for life-style factors, socioeconomic status, and nutritional profile, the subjects from the highest coffee consumption quartile exhibited 40% lower odds of suffering from metabolic syndrome compared to those in the control (OR = 0.75; 95% CI = 0.67–0.84; P for trend < 0.001).
The above sentence should be changed to the following statement.
Upon adjusting for life-style factors, socioeconomic status, and nutritional profile, the subjects from the highest coffee consumption quartile exhibited 25% lower odds of suffering from metabolic syndrome compared to those in the control (IRR = 0.75; 95% CI = 0.67–0.84; P for trend < 0.001).
