Appearance of potential conflict of interest

I have already alerted the Academic Editor of this publication Dr. Martin Giurfa to the appearance of a potential conflict of interest with this publication. Dr. Giurfa appears in the acknowledgments without any mention of his function as Academic Editor, giving the impression of having commented on the manuscript prior to submission.
My comment now is intended both to appease readers who have repeatedly pointed this out to me (as member of the PLoS One editorial board) personally and to give the authors of the publication an opportunity to correct any mistakes in their acknowledgments.
