closeModification of Funding Acknowledgements in the Published Article
Posted by sryu368 on 22 Jun 2023 at 06:34 GMT
I am writing to provide a formal comment regarding a modification that should be made to the funding acknowledgements in the published article titled "[Screening of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis using generative adversarial network (GAN) inversion method in chest radiographs]" . This comment raises a concern with the authors' funding disclosure and suggests a change to accurately reflect the sources of financial support for the research.
The original funding statement in the article reads as follows:
"Funding: SMR This research was supported by the Basic Science Research Program through the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) funded by the Ministry of Education (2021R1A6A3A01088445)."
While this statement acknowledges the support received from the Basic Science Research Program through the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF), it fails to mention an additional funding source that contributed to the research. Therefore, I suggest the following modified funding statement:
"Funding: SMR This research was supported by the Basic Science Research Program through the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) funded by the Ministry of Education (2021R1A6A3A01088445). NK This research was also supported by a grant from the Korea Health Technology R&D Project through the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI), funded by the Ministry of Health & Welfare, Republic of Korea (grant number: HR20C0026)."
This revised statement accurately acknowledges the support received from both funding sources, the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) and the Korea Health Technology R&D Project through the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI). It is important to provide a comprehensive and transparent account of the financial support received to ensure the integrity and transparency of the research.
I kindly request that the authors and the editorial team of PLOS ONE consider making this modification to the funding acknowledgements in the published article. This will guarantee that readers have a thorough understanding of the financial support the authors received and any potential influences on the research findings.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I appreciate your dedication to maintaining the highest standards of transparency and integrity in scientific publishing.
