The bar graph in Figure 9B of our article displays the results from Western Blot analysis of relative p38 phosphorylation levels as mean + standard deviation (SD) derived from three independent experiments. The results displayed in this bar graph are correct. However, the two inserts under the graph should exemplarily depict the phospho-p38 (upper panel) and p38 signals (lowe panel) from one corresponding experiment and we have realized with great regret that errors occurred during the assembly of these inserts. The upper panel, showing the phospho-p38 signals, must have been accidentally turned upside down (mirroring along the longitudinal axis) while moving it in the image editing program. However, the signals are indeed representative of the results shown in the bar graph. The p38 signals have been inadvertently taken from an experiment shown in Figure 9A, which has been evaluated the same day. An amended version of Figure 9B has been submitted to the editorial staff. We would like to sincerely apologize for this error.
