Work for Food relates to Food Entrainable Oscillator

In this paper the suggestion is made that diurnality induced in mice that work for food (WFF) may rely on similar mechanisms as the food entrainable oscillator (FEO) and may also explain, in part, the diurnal food anticipatory activity observed with food restriction during day time. The food intake levels during these FEO protocols are similar as in the WFF protocol (~70%)! I would be interested in comments on this suggestion. Is the food entrainable oscillator simply a response to the reduction in food intake??
