Thank you for your though provoking examination of an often lofted assumption.
I have not been able to find however the 2012 report offered below which does appear to use a representative sample of the UK, to publish all the answer percentages and intriguingly reveals that 4 out of 10 of the 67% who wished to stay at home would still prefer "even if [they] did not have sufficient support from family, friends or the social and medical professionals".
Do you know why this was not included?
