I have questions.
(1) The model parameters f1, f2, and f3 do not depend on the radiation dose? The radiation effect is represented by only gamma?
(2) 20Gy (or at one point the authors say 15Gy) is very large as a single dose. The cells should be killed instantly. What am I missing?

2. Yes, 15 or 20 Gy are a large dose which should "kill" the cells. We want to know what exactly means "killing the cells". They do not explode or go into necrosis within seconds or minutes. Instead, the cells arrest the cell cycle by expressing p21 and p16 which takes hours to days (see paper). They completely stop proliferating and go into senecence and apoptosis (quantitification of apoptosis was postponed in the paper to a manuscript now in preparation).
