Common Ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia) is a weedy plant species with wind pollinated flowers causing much concern due to its high allergenic effect. The present study documents the recent colonization history of this species based on one of the most comprehensive data sets collected for any plant species to date - including sampling on different continents and combining nuclear and chloroplast genetic markers, which enables the authors to separate gene flow via seed dispersal from gene flow via pollen dispersal.
