There was a small omission in the Study Limitations section of our work that is currently being corrected by the Corrections Team at PLOS ONE. Readers should please note the following amended sentence: "And, as the focus of this present work is on gun possession among adolescent youth, it is important to note that no US state legally allows anyone under the age of 18 to possess firearms, with exceptions in some states for hunting and ranching purposes."
