closeEditor's Note: Errors in Data Extraction
Posted by PLOS_ONE_Group on 20 Jul 2018 at 23:11 GMT
The PLOS ONE Editors would like to make readers aware that following publication, it has been brought to our attention that there are errors in the data extraction for one of the studies included in this meta-analysis, specifically, the REPAIR Trial, reference 17 in the published paper:
MacAllister R, Clayton T, Knight R, Robertson S, Nicholas J, Motwani M, et al. Efficacy and Mechanism Evaluation. Remote preconditioning for Protection Against Ischaemia-Reperfusion in renal transplantation (REPAIR): a multicentre, multinational, double-blind, factorial designed randomised controlled trial. Southampton (UK): NIHR Journals Library. 2015.
Data from two groups of the REPAIR trial were excluded from the meta-analysis and were therefore not included in Table 1 of the PLOS ONE article. Data extraction errors in the other two groups resulted in overrepresentation of events observed in the REPAIR study for the following categories: delayed graft function (DGF), acute rejection (AR), graft loss, and 50% fall in SCr.
The PLOS ONE Editors are following up to address the concerns and a formal notice providing additional details will be published when all issues are fully resolved.
