closeCreativity?

Several similar articles using phaged-displayed library as a tool have been released. However, the clinical value of such a technique seems to be question. First, how is the reservation of such peptidic drugs well performed? Second, there is no evidence to support that the targeting liposomal drugs could recognize high ratio of various types of tumors.

Phage display is an important technique in basic research as well as medical science. Phage-displayed random peptide libraries provide opportunities to map B-cell epitopes, and to select bioactive peptides bound to receptors. They can be used to search for cell- and organ-specific peptides. However, the targeting ligands specific to lung cancer cells had not been identified until this study. In this study, we found that targeting liposomes to lung cancer markedly improved the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, and therapeutic efficacy of the drugs they delivered compared with non-targeting liposomes or free drugs. Investigation of preclinical try and stability of targeting liposomes are in progress.

The advantages of phage-displayed library had been verified in 1985. Clinically, the feasibility of this technique addressed by the essay should further certified through animal experiments executed by other independent institutes. In this way, it might be more convincing.
