Interesting - John Jaenike and colleagues published something very similar last month, showing that Spiroplasma infection protected Drosophila neotestacea against the nematode parasite Howardula aoronymphium (Science. 2010 Jul 9;329(5988):212-5). I wonder how general this phenomenon is?
