“This is clearly one of the best papers I received for reviewing in the last couple of years. The experiments are very well designed, the results are convincing and presented in a very nice set of figures, and the manuscript is written concisely and straight to the point.
The strength of this paper is the combination of a pharmacological approach with gene expression and RNAi analyses, which, together, make a strong point for the involvement of the TOR pathway in the caste-specific development of honey bee queen and worker larvae.”
