These comments are due to 2 events
1) there was an oversight on the contribution of one of the Co-First Authors
The correction should read

Conceived and designed the experiments: SK KW ELS FCM. Performed the experiments: SK ELS KW AK. Analyzed the data: SK JB HL. Contributed reagents/materials/analysis tools: MA FCM. Wrote the paper: SK ELS KW.

2) Authorship-
I have been contacted in regards to confusion over position of first three co-authors. First off- ALL three FIRST CO-Authors contributed Equally and importantly. Each at different times during the evolution of this work. Because of this I choose to represent the authorship as alphabetical Kidd-Spaeth-Watson.
However- since this original submission-concern has arisen as to co-first author position #2.

I have provided below for the readership & editors the detailed evolution of this work and the resulting paper for evaluation of what constitutes position

FCM, SK, ELS KW designed the initial expts
KW SK ELS did the transplant, inserted adipose and inserted tumors.
KW harvested tumors.
SK, ELS, KW, AK stained and evaluated slides, SK does all multispectral unmixing, KW ELS- generated initial figures, initial statistical
analysis and wrote the paper- sent off to Nature Cell biology
paper is rejected- request for more data & expts- journal wants additional BM
evaluation of controls.
ELS competes 2nd series of transplants- harvests BM- completes in vitro colony counts, FACS, and stained slides. ELS rewrite paper, generated new figures (in supplement)- submitted to Cell Stem Cell- Rejected-
reviewers want more controls.
ELS completes 3rd expts-data analysis, new figures and rewrite
submit to Cancer Research June 2011. Rejected Aug 2011
reviewers want article to focus on quantitative assessment instead of where each
cell comes from.
ELS rewrites & reorganizes article- Submited to PLOS- Nov 2012
Accepted with revision. Major rewrite and
reorganization of data. Paper accepted in DEC 2012- published in
mar2012.
