An intriguing animal model

I found the results intriguing due to the animal model. In general, research uses C57BL/6 mice strain (or background), since the resistance of the Swiss strain to MPTP has been known for a long time. Recall the work of Heikkila [European Journal of Pharmacology, 129 (1986) 339-345] where 4 x 10 mg/kg of MPTP (this work 30 mg/kg) did not deplete either dopamine or its metabolites in the striatum of Swiss mice. Its was an exemple, I have similar unpublished results. In addition, immunohistochemistry and behavior deviate from the gold standard for animal models of Parkinson's disease: counting the number of TH+ neurons and amphetamine challenge. In my opinion, the hypothesis is interesting, but it was poorly executed.
