The basic design of this experiment is simply terrible. Stevekass (and countless others in comment sections across the web) figured out the fatal flaw in this experiment, so how did the PI and other scientists involved not see it throughout the entire process? I understand that the lead author isn't even in college yet, but the PI, the editor, and referees are all at serious fault here. Honestly, PLoS ONE is getting to be known for this kind of nonsense and it needs to weed out this kind of stuff.

Although I can not support the acidness of this comment and others addressing the issue, I must agree upon the faultiness of either experimental design or conclusions (depending on the perspective) in this manuscript. And the conspicuousness of the same...
